About Emily

selfportrait

Emily Valenza is an odd and precocious art educator. She is fascinated by all things entomological, etymlogical and gastronomical. That’s not all.

She began her studies in Kindergarten as a studio artist but quickly changed her mind in First grade, realizing that education was her fated field. Since then she has been teaching art in her own quirky and enthusiastic way to colleagues and students in community centers, public and private schools.

She graduated Penn State in 2003, with a degree in Art Education, and a minor in East Asian Studies. Emily is certified to teach art PreK-12 in Pennsylvania and Massachusetts and is teaching art at Kingsley Montessori School in the Back Bay neighborhood of Boston.

    Emily,

I enjoyed visiting your blog! Believe it or not, quirky is a good thing for a teacher to be. Keep up the good work.

Your blog is wonderful, I have recently entered the blogging world as an artist-teacher as I pursue my masters degree in curriculum! I live in small centre northern rural Saskatchewan Canada… people like you would be great to artistically pedagogically and socially converse with :) ! jnieviadomy.edublogs.org, virtualstudio.pbwiki.com, arted20.ning.com/profile/njinn…cheers, Jinny
